SAMBO IS POLITICALLY, ECONOMICALLY FRUSTRATED – MAMBWE
By SIMON MUNTEMBA
REVEREND Reuben Sambo is politically frustrated and wants to vent his political and economic frustrations by denting the name of MMD in an attempt to seek attention from the new dawn administration, MMD founder member Reuben Mambwe has charged.

Mr Mambwe said in an interview that Rev. Sambo was throwing tantrums on MMD out of frustrations to be recognised by the new administration of President Hakainde Hichilema.
He was reacting to remarks by MMD vice-president, Rev. Sambo that PF was likely to go into oblivion like UNIP and MMD did.
Rev. Sambo said political parties that lose power suffer from a power play fuelled by the red hot expectation of a swift return to power, predicting that the rejected PF would go the way of UNIP and MMD.
But Mr Mambwe took a swipe at Rev. Sambo describing him as a “frustrated leader” whose master is seeking attention from the new dawn administration.
He said Rev. Sambo was in MMD and serving as vice president for survival and not for the love of the party.
“As a loyal member of the MMD, I wish to put it categorical that it was an ill statement coming from a frustrated leader whose master is now seeking attention from the new administration of Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND.
“It is unfortunate that Rev. Sambo can vent his political and economic frustration on denting the name of his party, the MMD, yet at the same time he claims to be its vice president. What kind of reasoning is that? How can he say the party he belongs to will die and at the same time claim to be a leader of the same party? Is that leadership?” Mr Mambwe said.
He said the utterances by Rev. Sambo were worrying because it showed that he was a “leader” who cares less for the future of a strong and historical entity, the MMD which has structures and massive followers countrywide.
If the clergyman is tired of being in the MMD and has run out of ideas, which his statement suggests, let him leave the MMD to people willing to make it live forever in the political dispensation of Zambia, said Mr Mambwe.
He challenged Rev. Sambo to resign from MMD and join UPND instead of holding on to the party that he has lost hope of forming government.
He said chancers like him who wished his own party demise should not be allowed close to the ruling party.
