2 Chinese nabbed for drug trafficking

TWO Chinese nationals have been nabbed for allegedly trafficking in 10.75grams of cannabis with no lawful authority.Muhammad Musa, 45, and Bagat Chaate, 43, pleaded guilty to the charge and said they got the drug for smoking purposes.The two appeared in the Lusaka magistrate court before magistrate Changa Chitabwo, accused and charged with trafficking in psychotropic substances of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances Act no. 35 of 2021 of the laws of Zambia.It is alleged that on December 13, 2021 around 15 hours the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) officers received information that two men were dealing in drugs in Kabwata.The team began a search in Kabwata and specifically at Kabwata filling station where a vehicle of registration number ABJ2329 Toyota Land Cruiser was found with two occupants in front. They searched the vehicle and found cannabis wrapped in a plastic in two boxes.The matter has been adjourned to a later date for facts of records and continuation of trial.
