MERCENARIES AFTER ME – LUSAMBO

By ADRIAN MWANZA

MERCENARIES have been hired to bring me down and that is why some people have reported me to the police over flimsy and laughable cases, Kabushi Member of Parliament, Bowman Lusambo, has said.

Mr Lusambo, in an interview said he was shocked that people had the audacity to even report him to the police over the interview he had with Diamond TV.

Mr Andrew Bucha lodged a complaint at Woodlands Police Station in Lusaka yesterday alleging that the statements made by Mr Lusambo were tantamount to defamation of the President.

But Mr Lusambo said he was not shaken and that it was evident that the people who had reported him to the police were looking for jobs since the head of State had promised to create jobs even for people like him.

Mr Lusambo said the people who were being used in this campaign were behaving like headless chickens because they did not know what they were doing.

“I can assure you that I’m not shaken by this and the only time I was troubled in life was when I lost my mother and father, not these trivial matters,” he said.

He said the current government was trying to sway people’s attention by promoting the fight against corruption.

Mr Lusambo said that people were not interested but wanted to know about the IMF deal and its impact.

He said he felt sorry for Zambians because they had been duped on grounds that they were going to be given better conditions of service.

“I want to say that I greatly sympathise with Zambians because instead of them being given the things they were promised, government had gone on a war to persecute innocent people,” he said.

Mr Lusambo also said that the investigative wings were wasting their time with their raids because he was squeaky clean with no traces of corruption.

He said he had served as provincial minister in Lusaka and Copperbelt and never at one time had he misappropriated government resources.
