PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has won the hearts of many Zambians because his vision is moving the country forward, says Kafue District Commissioner, Joseph Kamana.

And Mr Kamana said the people of Kafue will soon stop travelling long distances to access education facilities because Government is constructing enough learning institutions in the district.

In an interview yesterday, Mr Kamana said the massive economic development taking place in the country did not come by luck but as a result of President Lungu’s hard work and determination.

“The people of Zambia are happy with President Lungu’s leadership because the development we are witnessing in the country has come as a result of the sound policies he has put in place.”

He explained that the vision of the Head of State was so far incomparable.

And Mr Kamana said the people of Kafue would soon stop travelling long distances to access education facilities because Government was constructing enough learning institutions in the district.

Mr Kamana said in Chikupi area, for instance, Government had constructed a secondary school at a cost of K34 million.

“I can confirm that the Chikupi Secondary School project has been completed. And we are expecting to open it to the public in the third term, this year.”

Mr Kamana explained that a youth training centre was also under construction.

He said about K30m would be spent on the Kafue Youth Training School which was scheduled to be completed by next month.

“Partial training will start in September. We will begin with agricultural lessons. So the youths will be trained in fish farming and other agricultural related programmes.”

“Government is committed to diversifying the economy, this development will complement such efforts,” he said.

Mr Kamana also revealed that plans were underway to open a nursing school in the district.

He said the projects were in line with Government’s commitment to make education accessible and affordable for all.

“Previously, pupils used to cover long distances to access schools but now things have changed for better. Government is in a hurry to construct more learning institutions in the district.”

Mr Kamana said the people of Kafue were happy with the developmental projects being implemented in the area.
