IG a political cadre – ADEDO

By PRINCE MABUMBA

INSPECTOR General of Police Graphael Musamba is a nothing but a UPND cadre who will do everything to frustrate opposition political parties in their quest to mobilise to please his appointing masters, the Africa’s Democratic and Economic Development Organisation (ADEDO) has said.

Daniel Nyati, the ADEDO vice president says Mr Musamba has been involving himself in politics and has been using his office to prop the interests of the ruling party instead of serving the public interest.

Speaking when he featured on Millennium TV’s Pulse Nation programme on Monday, Mr Nyati said Mr Musamba had been abusing the provision of the Public Order Act (POA) to the advantage of the UPND.

He warned that Mr Musamba was likely to end up the worst Inspector General of Police because he had abandoned his mandate of fairly policing the nation as he had allegedly resorted to fixing opposition political parties.

Mr Nyati said Mr Musamba should realise that the UPND was not going to be in power in perpetuity and that soon, often very soon, the police chief along with his political party shall be made to account for their actions.

He said the abuse of the Public Order Act was against the law, therefore, Mr Musamba would be made to face the wrath of the law once he was out of office.

Mr Nyati said any person holding a public office needed to be professional regardless of being appointed by an elected leader because they were there to serve Zambia and not political parties.
