VICE President Inonge Wina says it is the wish of the Patriotic Front (PF) government to be inclusive by sharing the national cake equally.

Ms Wina said over the past two years, government under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu, had been constrained by the scarcity of resources coupled with the two elections and the challenge of inadequate electricity.

She said government was forced to import electricity from other countries such as Mozambique, a situation she said had a negative effect on the treasury.

‘’And as a result, we could not continue with some of the projects. Some of them stalled for two to three years, Ms Wina said.

The vice president was speaking when she met traditional leaders in Kabompo yesterday.

She disclosed government had now resolved to channel the resources to some projects that have stalled so that outstanding projects could completed before embarking on new ones.

She said President Lungu was committed to developing the province despite people in the area not supporting him.

And Ms Wina has appealed to traditional leaders to work closely with government in bringing investment in the province.

She said government wanted traditional leaders to take a leading role in the diversification process.

‘’We can go into agriculture, food and timber processing, fish farming, cattle and goat rearing because the market is readily available. So, opportunities are there, what we need is exchange of information between the royal highnesses and the provincial administration, she said.

And speaking on behalf of traditional leaders, senior chief Kanongesha said chiefs were happy with government for connecting the province to the national electricity grid.

He said electrification of the province would attract investment which in turn would result in job creation.
