KABWE’S Luangwa ward residents have passed a vote of no confidence in their councillor, Mr Pelesi Siame.

The residents have also been reported to be planning a petition for his removal for allegedly failing to deliver to their expectations.

Speaking on behalf of the aggrieved residents, Mr Kelvin Ngoma said each time they presented their problems to Mr Siame, he told them he was busy with school and would only address their concerns once he was done with studies.

Mr Ngoma said in an interview with the Daily Nation that they were very disappointed with the councilor’s altitude towards rendering a service to people because that was the reason they elected him and not for him to go to school. “We are very disappointed with our councillor and we feel we don’t have a councillor not even a caretaker because each time we go to present our problems in Luangwa ward, he tells us that ‘am at school will see you after am finished with school’.”

He said Mr Siame has never visited his ward since he was elected councillor and this has made him unpopular among the people.

“Since he was elected into office, he has never visited his ward. Some of the people in Luangwa ward don’t know their councillor,” said Mr Ngoma.

He has since urged the Mr Siame, to avail himself to people in the ward as soon as possible because 2021 was fast approaching.

“There are only two years remaining, very soon Mr Siame will come crawling to us and we are going to teach him a lesson because it’s like he stood as Luangwa ward councillor for his own benefits, said Mr Ngoma. Mr Siame could not be immediately reached for a comment
