BOYD Miselo, the soldier who was allegedly hiding his son at a barrack in Lusaka West after he assaulted a pupil at Jesus Army private school has threatened to “know what to do” with the reporter who wrote the story  today after visiting the police.

On Thursday afternoon, Mr. Miselo told Daily Nation that the story about his son, Kazembe, having assaulted Abby Ngoma and that he had hidden him, was not true but on Saturday, he said he had given assistance to Abby through his late mother after he was injured.

In a 12-minute recorded call, Mr. Miselo said he would go to Mtendere police station today to ascertain whether a docket had been opened and know which police officers were handling the matter and promised this reporter he would get back to him because the reporter acted in an unethical manner.

Asked what he meant by alleging that the reporter acted in a unethical and unprofessional manner when he and his wife denied the story when they were contacted for a comment on Thursday, Mr. Miselo said he did not realise that the matter could go this far.

He also questioned who had given the reporter the authority to go ahead with the story.

“I was going to get back to you without knowing that it will come to that extent. But how do you put that on headline? That type of journalism, I don’t know where it is going because you end up telling the nation a wrong story. Let me tell you, you could have come back to me and got the whole story. But you, you went ahead and put it on headline.

“On Monday (today) I will go to the police station (and find out) whether they have opened a docket for that boy because you know that procedure for assault. Further to that, I will also see what I will do because you see, you have jeopardised my work because everybody has read that. It is unethical for the journalist to do likewise,” Mr. Miselo said.

He further demanded that the story be retracted. “By Monday, things will start.. It is better you retract that information, that data which you gave the nation. Thanks very much, I will see the way forward,” he warned.

On Thursday, Mr. Miselo dismissed the story as being fake and promised that he would call back but never did.

His wife also denied that her son had assaulted anyone, telling this reporter to get back to the same people who had “lied” to him.
