PF consoles

By ROGERS KALERO
ZAMBIANS are today regretting voting for the UPND because they were misled and lied to by capitalists and dishonest politicians who have now proved to be heartless to the majority of Zambians who voted for them, says the Patriotic Front.
PF Copperbelt provincial mobilisation secretary Kangwa Puta said the zeal which majority of Zambians had when voting out PF and ushering in the UPND in government was slowly fading because the actions of the new dawn administration was not inspiring or giving them hope
In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Ms Puta said the route taken by the “new dawn” government to remove subsidy on fuel and electricity will not help the country to achieve economic recovery, but will only serve to worsen the poverty and hunger situation in the country
“The removal of subsidy on fuel and electricity will only worsen the poverty and hunger situation in the country because the impact will be on an ordinary citizens in communities. I can tell you that, out there in communities, there is serious hunger and poverty
“Zambians decided to vote for UPND on August 12 with zeal and hope of, job creation, poverty alleviation and food security, but there seems to be no hope. Instead, there seems to be signs of worsening poverty levels amid assurances of better things to come from the new dawn government,” Ms Puta said
Ms Puta has also urged genuine PF members and officials not to wash dirty-linen in public but to follow the laid down procedure of airing grievances, saying those who were rushing to the media wanted to create an impression that there was division in the party
She said PF’s defeat in the August 12 election was a minor setback which the former ruling party was capable of recovering from and possibly bouncing back if it was united and individuals were not looking at personal interests
“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain. The rains will stop and the sun will come out. As PF, we are hopeful that the sun will come out. All what is needed is unity of purpose,” she said
Ms Puta also advised job seekers to go and kneel before President Hakainde Hichilema and ask for employment from him instead of speaking ill about the PF and President Edgar Lungu.
She said those seeking jobs in the UPND government must not speak ill about the PF and President Lungu but must convince the UPND leadership how relevant they will be in the system if given a job
Ms Puta was speaking in an apparent reference to Mr Luxon Kazabu’s statement that the PF were scared because they know the crimes they committed.
She said it was disappointing that some finished politicians who wanted their presence to be heard or known had chosen to attack the PF and its leadership
