COMMONWEALTH SECRETARY GENERAL UPDATES PRESIDENT LUNGU ON HER MISSION TO MUKOBEKO

The Commonwealth Secretary General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC has this morning again met with President Edgar Chagwa Lungu to brief him about her mission visit to Mukobeko Maximum Prison yesterday.
Ms Scotland communicated the outcomes of her meeting with the opposition leader Mr Hakainde Hichilema yesterday and consequent upon those outcomes made some proposals on the way forward.
Ms Scotland has since returned to Kabwe to hold further talks and later in the day she will meet other leaders of the United Party for National Development (UPND).
The Secretary General will in due course make an announcement once she has concluded the consultations with all relevant parties.
Special Assistant to President for Press and and Public Relations Amos Chanda made these relevations to the media after the closed door meeting between President Lungu and the Secretary General.
