A UPND civic leader in Kazungula District of Southern Province has pledged his support towards government programs aimed at raising the standard of living of the people.

Mandia Ward Councilor Milner Simbangu says that he is impressed with the way government is working in Kazungula district in terms of the implementation of projects and programs.

Mr. Sumbangu said it was imperative for all well meaningful citizens to support and work with the government of the day.

In an apparent reference to President Edgar Lungu’s directive to all the councils in the country to keep the districts clean in view of cholera outbreak, Mr. Simbangu said that Kazungula has changed it’s image from what is used to be.

He said that the directive has brought out good results in Kazungula where refuse collection and keeping the border facility clean on daily basis has been consistent.

“We are working in harmony with government through the council and if we continue with this spirit, we are going to develop our country Zambia,” he said.

Mr. Simbangu said that time has come for Zambians to put politics aside and work together in developing the country.

“I am very impressed with the government and if we are to work together like the way we are working now whereby we put politics aside, and focus on developmental issues, then I am sure we are going very far,” he said.

“Kazungula today looks very clean because of the efforts that have been put in place by government through my council.. The council is working so hard to keep up the status of cleanliness,” he said.
