UPND POLITICISING CDF – CHIENGI MP

By VITA BANDA

CHIENGI Member of Parliament Given Katuta has urged the new dawn administration to disburse Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at the same time in all constituencies.

In an interview, Ms Katuta said the new dawn administration is politicking with CDF by disbursing early to constituencies for the ruling party MPs.

She said that, MPs from Southern, Western and North Western provinces have received CDF monitoring vehicles while those from the northern block have not.

Ms Katuta said, Government keeps saying that opposition MPs are failing to fully utilize the increased CDF yet government is the one delaying to disburse.

She has since urged Government to desist from being biased with the disbursement of CDF as by doing so, they are digging their own graves.

“The challenge is that the UPND administration is not telling the truth on how the CDF is being disbursed. When you go to the constituencies where there are opposition MPs the funds have not been disbursed.

The MPs from Southern, Western and North-Western provinces are prioritised and this shows that the government is politicising this programme which is very worrying,” she said.

Ms Katuta said if the new dawn administration want development to flourish in all corners of the country it must do the right thing.
