ZAMBIA Development Agency (ZDA) board chairperson Fisho Mwale has been fired.
Mr Mwale, who is Yalelo confirmed his dismissal in an interview but did not disclose the reason leading to the termination of his contract.
He said Commerce Minister Christopher Yaluma was in a better position to explain the reason he terminated his appointment.
“Yes I have been fired from my position as ZDA board chairperson but as to the reason, you better contact Mr Yaluma, I am sure he will be in a position to tell you,” Mr Mwale said.
Mr Mwale also said he could not comment on the social media reports that he has been fired because he refused to appoint ZDA Director of Enterprise Mukula Makasa as Director-General.
Mr Mwale was appointed board chairperson in April this year and deputised by Mr. Enock Bwalya, both from the private sector.
Other members of the board are Ms. Chisoma Lombe, Ms. Chipego Zulu, Ms. Rabecca Katowa, Mr. Robinson Chongo Mwansa, and Bishop David Musonda Masupa while government is represented by permanent secretaries from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry; Ministry of Labour and Social Security; Ministry of Finance (Budgets); Ministry of General Education; Ministry of Agriculture; Ministry of Mines and the Attorney General from the Minis- try of Justice.
Efforts to get comment from Mr Yaluma proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
