PARLIAMENT is a special house that should be treated with respect it deserved, Church of God Cathedral of Miracles Bishop Naison Nyonyo has charged.

Bishop Nyonyo said no one should take Parliament for granted and for their personal gain because the allowances lawmakers were getting came from tax payers.

He said that he hoped that business would this time continue as expected and without interruptions.

The clergyman charged that no parliamentarians  were expected to walk away from the National Assembly during the session as it was a sheer  waste of resource and the Zambian people’s time.

Bishop Nyonyo said in recent times, the parliamentarians had become a burden to the nation because they had been disturbing business at the expense of serving Zambians.

He challenged those members who were craving to go to State House to wait for 2021 and stop championing their agenda using tax payers’ money.

“As a church we will not condone the behaviour of some law makers who disturbed business in the House at the expense of speaking for their people,

“The more they walk away the more they drag the country backwards and therefore such things should not be tolerated this time,

“We want to see maturity in Parliamentarians and should not behave as if they owe Zambia, when they are people who are serious and can serve this country instead of wasting resources for their own benefit,” he said.

The clergyman said leadership was coming from God and advised those who were craving for State house to remain humble and wait for their right time.

Bishop Nyonyo stated that MPs should exhibit maturity and lead as examples to their people and the country at large.
