A CONCERNED resident of Chisanga Village in Kasama district has said that the demolition of the infrastructure built on the Chitamba-Chisanga road will pave way for the upgrading of the road to bituminous standards.

Speaking to the Daily Nation, Morgan Chanda said all well-meaning residents in the two villages should support the move which is aimed at bringing development to the area since they have been yearning for a good transport system for a long time now.

“This area will lag behind in terms of development if the residents continue politicising and criticising every move of those in authority,” he said.

Mr Chanda further said that hate speeches against the government had for a long time haunted the district and should stop so that the area gets development.

Recently, a combined team of council officers and state security swung into action and demolished structures built on the road in a bid to clean the district to prevent possible cholera outbreak.
