RED Arrows coach, Honour Janza, has clarified that defender, Bronson Chama, is still part of the team but could not travel to Spain due to a technical reason.

Chama was left out on the Arrows team list for the 10-days pre-season training in Spain.

Janza in an interview explained that the Spain trip would not be helpful for him (Chama) as it was tactical and the defender was lagging behind on the aerobics side of training.

He said Chama and other three players would remain in Lusaka to train with the other technical bench.

“Chama has to stay behind with three other new players because they are still three- four steps behind on the aerobics side of training. We do not want them to lag behind in Spain when we start the tactical aspect of the training.

They will be under the supervision of the other technical bench,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Janza thanked the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) commandant for facilitating the Spain trip.

He said the team would make good use of the camping to adequately prepare for the 2018 Super League season. “Our goal in Spain is to ensure we get the best out of it, it’s not leisure time for any player. This season’s target is to present the League title to the ZAF commander, so we need to work hard,” he said.

The Arrows team yesterday left for Spain and will play friendly matches against FC Langhental of Switzerland and FC UFA of Russia.
