THERE were no Government resources that were used and no official attended our meeting on the Copperbelt, PF media director Sunday Chanda has said.

Mr Chanda said no government official attended the Copperbelt social media administrators’ meeting contrary to Mr Chishimba Kambwili’s usual lies to gain cheap political mileage which is racing him to the bottom of his political career.

Mr Chanda was reacting to Mr. Kambwili’s allegations that some Government officials attended the PF Copperbelt WhatsApp Administrators’ meeting and wasted resources when students at the Copperbelt University (CBU) were denied meal allowances.

“What is of great concern at this meeting held is that, resources, which would have been effectively channelled towards student allowances, were being used to brand water with Edgar Lungu’s image and all this was done for a meeting which lasted only a few hours.”

But Mr. Chanda yesterday blasted Mr. Kambwili, describing his unfounded allegations that the function on the Copperbelt was attended by Government officials and that Government resources were used, as ridiculous and a desperate ploy to attain cheap political mileage.

He said at the rate he was peddling lies through social media propaganda on issues he had no clue about, Mr. Kambwili risked grounding his political career to a halt due to his misguided articulation of issue he did not understand.

“The Copperbelt social media administrators’ meeting was never attended by any single Government official. The water Mr. Kambwili lies about was donated to the meeting by a committed member of the party resident in Lusaka. The meeting was not funded by any Government department but the party media department.

“Attempting to over-simplify the unfortunate incidents at the Copperbelt University is a clear case of Mr. Kambwili minimising the maximum and maximising the minimums. We refuse to join him in his race to the bottom. At least he knows what an organised media team on the Copperbelt will do,” Mr. Chanda said.
