Six men charged for stealing pistol, phone, cash valued at K400, 000

SIX men have appeared in court for stealing a pistol, iphone13 Promax and cash money altogether valued at over K400, 000.
Appearing before Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili was Alfred Mendai,35 a bus driver of Lilayi who is charged with Robbie Banda, 37, of Jack Compound and Nicholas Mwaba, 23, of Zingalume.
Others are Dickson Mwanza, 36, of Zingalume, Luckson Ngwenya, 29, of Lilanda and Obias Kamukwamba, 27, of Chelstone area.
All the six are facing one count of burglary and theft contrary to Section 301(a) and 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia and one count of Unlawful Possession of a firearm contrary to Section 10(1)(2)(a) of the Firearms Act Chapter 110 of the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that during the night of March 10, 2023 in Lusaka, the six with intent to steal, broke and entered into GONG YUXIN’s house and stole therein one Glock pistol, one I- Phone 13 Promax, K130, 000.00 cash, other items and US$14, 000 altogether valued at K496, 000.00 the property of Gong Yuxin.
It is alleged in count two that Mendai, Banda, Mwaba, Mwanza, Ngwenya and Kamukwamba, on March 10, 2023 in Lusaka, had in their possession one Glock pistol of serial number BL SL 722 without lawful authority.
Trial continues.
