CHURCH NOT DOING ENOUGH TO UNITE NATION – NGOS

By PETER SICHALI

THE Church has not performed their critical role of uniting the nation through counselling politicians and citizens alike on how to conduct themselves and govern affairs of the nation, Consortium of political parties and Non Governmental organisation Spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa has said.

Mr Mulemwa said the Church should  not only pray for politicians and citizens alike both in the ruling party and opposition, but also ensure that there is peaceful coexistence and harmony among the people.

“We have noted with grave concern, how the Church has not performed their critical role of uniting the nation through counselling politicians and citizens alike how to conduct themselves and govern affairs of the nation,” Mr Mulemwa said.

Mr Mulemwa said the consortium is  elated that the President, Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu  has consistently engaged the Church to foster meaningful dialogue with politicians and the general populace alike in an  effort to promote peace, love and unity in the country. He said the church should reciprocate President Lungu’s goodwill gesture by consistently engaging politicians and citizens alike across the political divide to promote peace, love and unity in the country.
