Man held for raping mental patient

POLICE Zambezi district are holding a 50-year-old man for allegedly raping a mental patient.
North Western commissioner of police Auxensio Daka identified the suspect as Bosco Samba of Muselekembwa village in Chief Tshima’s chiefdom.
“The incident occurred on Friday around 14:00 hours in Chingalala area. And the victim, 32 years of age, is a suspected mental patient of Kahoko village in Chief Tshima’s chiefdom,’’ Mr Daka said.
He said a medical report was issued by officers from the Victim Support Unit and the woman was taken to Zambezi district hospital for medical examination.
“However, the results are not yet ready but the suspect is in police custody,’’ he added.
