PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu’s watershed speech to the national Assembly gives hope to Zambians as it was anchored on all-inclusive developmental agenda to improve the citizens’ livelihoods, promote peace and a prosperous nation without leaving anyone behind, the Zambian DNA has observed.

Commenting on President Lungu’s official address to the 2nd session of the 12th National Assembly last Friday, Zambia DNA spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa said despite his critics punching holes into his speech, the head of state tackled pertinent issues that affected Zambia and provided hope by outlining his development drive based on realities of national economies.

Mr. Mulemwa said diversification and job-creation, which had been the PF administration’s theme in its quest to improve the economy and reduce poverty among its citizenry, was paramount to the development of the country.

He said President Lungu’s non-deviation from such and his insistency on improving the welfare of the vulnerable in society was inspiring.

He said challenged critics to be sober-minded, take deep introspection on what they stood for and acknowledge where President Lungu had scored.

“Zambian DNA commends President Lungu for the watershed speech anchored on all-inclusive development agenda to improve Zambians’ livelihoods, promote peace and a prosperous nation without leaving anyone behind. The president outlined how his administration intends to improve the welfare of the poor, the vulnerable, the youth, the women and every Zambian.

He called on MPs to read the speech so that they could have a logical discourse as opposed to speculatively debate national affairs as that did not add value to their existence in parliament or the people they led.

“We urge all Members of Parliament and Zambians to embrace this progressive speech meant to improve their livelihoods,” he said

Zambian DNA further commended opposition UPND MPs for attending the President’s address to Parliament,” he said.
