The 2017 Zambia Film and Television Award’s winner for the best actress Cassie Kabwita has appealed to local female artistes support the ‘Chimbokaila’ Mother’s Day visitation to Lusaka Central Correctional Facility on Sunday.

This is a visit meant to interact with and take entertainment and various donations to the female inmates and children at the facility.

Ms Kabwita famously as King Cassie said this when she declared herself ready for the event being organised by Andre Entertainments and a consortium of corporate organisations. She said as a female actress whose mission is to promote gender equality, women and child rights among other things, she feels obliged to be an ambassador of this noble cause.

“I urge my fellow female celebrities to be part of this. This is the only time we can share our success with the vulnerable,” she said.

And organising committee member and female activist, Lulu Daka says she is happy with the support from female artistes so far and asks for more to turn up.

“We urge the female artistes to turn up in numbers and join all of us who are ready. As women, we need to think critically of our friends and their needs. We are giving not because we have enough but because we know the pain of not having,” said Lulu adding that free transport sponsored by Perfect Choice will be available at the Lusaka Post Office from 08:30 hours to all those that wish to be part of the occasion.
