Rizwani Patel, TWO OTHERS political prisonerS – Nakacinda

…says the continued detention of the PF members was nothing but a torturous political move that has nothing to do with the law

He said it had become clear that those in power were abusing citizens and that the rights and freedoms of Rizwani were in fact being trampled upon.

Mr Nakacinda said the PF and its leadership had done everything to get Mr Rizwani appear before court but that the police in Petauke and the entire regional command were unable to make a decision because instructions for the continued detention of the PF members were coming from Lusaka.

Mr Nakachinda in an interview, told Daily Nation that it was shocking that the new dawn administration had concentrated on an attempt to eliminate party officials on grounds of speculations.

The police rushed to charge Rizwani and two others with aggravated robbery, a non-bailable offence so that they could torturously keep them in police cells for as long as they feel. When we enquire from the police what this is all about, they are all pointing fingers at each other. It is a political move and has nothing to do with the law. They are abusing the process so that they can be out of circulation,” Mr Nakacinda. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.
