STRUGGLING City of Lusaka has fired head coach Hector Chilombo for failing to produce results.

Chilombo who has been sacked together with his assistant Davy Musole have recorded more defeats than victories.

According to a press statement issued by City media officer Alex Njovu, the duo have been replaced by Italian coaches Roberto and Peppe Macca who were engaged earlier this month.

Njovu said the decision was made to save the team from relegation.

Chilombo who took over from Elijah Chikwanda signed a six-month performance based contract in May. “We would like to sincerely thank the duo for their services rendered to the club and wish them success in their future endeavours.

The Italian coaches will remain in charge of the team as it avoids relegation,” he said. City are at the bottom of the table with 12 points from 24 games played. They have a record of two wins, six draws and 16 defeats.

The Lusaka outfit face Nkana this weekend.
