IT’s unfortunate that some people have continued misleading the people by putting words in the President’s mouth about things he did not say, copperbelt provincial youth chairperson, Nathan Chanda has said
Mr Chanda said it was disheartening to note that the opposition had completely twisted the meaning of what President Edgar Lungu had said concerning the Bemba idiom, “Ubomba Mwibala alya Mwibala” which they construed to mean that it supports corruption.
Mr Chanda said he had carefully listened to the recording of what President Lungu had said, adding that the Head of State was only encouraging PF members to work hard for the betterment of the nation not to reap where they did not sow.
He said President Lungu despised corruption and stealing of public resources as he had been on record warning culprits of stiffer consequences.
He urged Zambians to denounce some political players and others whose motives were targeted at bringing the name of the Head of State into disrepute.
Mr Chanda urged the opposition politicians to focus on politics of development unlike politics of insults or hatred because Zambia was a peaceful country.
“I call upon youths on the Copperbelt not to be used by some selfish leaders as tools of political violence because youths are important to the wellbeing and development of the country, “said Mr Chanda.
He said young people in the ruling party should continue supporting President Lungu because he had given various positions of decision making in his administration to youths because he believed in them.
