Nevers, HH political destitutes – MMD youths

NEVERS Mumba, just like UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, claims to be president when the people do not recognise him, Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) youths national coordinator Gerald Chiluba has charged.

And MMD Lusaka Province youth chairperson Elision Malambo said the only members of the party remaining with Dr. Mumba were those he came with from the church when he joined the party.

Speaking when the duo featured on Pan African radio on Friday, Mr Chiluba said the two leaders deserved to be in the same party because of their never conceding defeat attitude.

He observed that Dr. Mumba had continued misleading the MMD membership and the nation at large that he was still the president of the party even when it was clear that people were not interested in him.

Mr. Chiluba said Dr. Mumba was behaving like Mr. Hichilema who had also continued to fight the will of the Zambian people who had denied him an opportunity to be president five times.

He said the two individuals wanted to force themselves on Zambians who had categorically said no to them.

“There is something wrong about Nevers and HH. They both do not concede defeat, look at HH. He is claiming to be the president of Zambia when he is not, look at Nevers he also claims to be MMD president when he is not.

“HH is in court today trying to force himself on Zambians who have categorically said no to him on five occasions,” he said.

Mr Chiluba also called on republican President Edgar Lungu to use his executive powers and stop what he termed as nonsense by the UPND President.

“We are calling upon President Lungu to use his executive powers to intervene and stop the nonsense by the UPND and bring the country to order because people are now tired of politicking and now interested in economic development matters,” he said.

Responding to a caller Mr Zulu, who accused panelists of being masquerades, Mr Malambo said Dr. Mumba was an imposter.

Mr. Malambo said that there was no structure in the party that was supporting Dr. Mumba because all the members recognised the presidency of Felix Mutati as he was elected at the convention which Dr. Mumba shunned for fear of suffering a humiliating defeat.
