REAL Nakonde head coach Mathews Ndlovu has called on players at  the club to wake up and improve on their standard of play if the team is to remain in the MNT/FAZ Super division.

In interview after Real Nakonde’s 3-0 defeat to Napsa Stars at Nkoloma Stadium, Ndlovu said there was need for his team to be strengthened with new players.

Ndlovu said he was disappointed with the performance of his players in the week 15 fixture and noted that he did not have a team that can handle premier league pressure hence the need for Real Nakonde to recruit players in all departments.

“The performance was not impressive. It was a poor performance reflected especially in the second half. Our target is to remain in the league hence the need for us to work up now and bring in new players who can be able to help the team,” Ndlovu said.

“We didnt play well and that’s a wakeup call for us to biff up the team because If we don’t regroup then we are destined for division one. The transfer window is open. There is need for completion in the team and that is why we need to bring in people who will be able to help the club.”

Real Nakonde are at the bottom on the league table with 8 points from 14 games.

Meanwhile Napsa Stars coach Tenant Chilumba said wining the league would be a bonus for the club as his target is to finish the league in the top four. Speaking after Napsa thumped Real Nakonde 3-0 and displaced Lusaka Dynamos from the summit of the league, Chilumba said he was happy with the result despite playing their usual game.

“We wanted to get maximum points, we struggled in both half’s because we didnt play our usual game as we were playing against a team which is struggling in the league but we are happy for having won today’s fixture.  “We just have to continue pushing our boys as we aim to finish the league in the top four though it would be a bonus for us to win it,” Chilombo said. Napsa now commands the league table with 28 points, two points above second placed Lusaka Dynamos who have 26 points with two games in hand.

Napsa will next week travel to Ndola for a date against Konkola Blades while Real Nakondo will play hosts to Kabwe Warriors.
