UPND Copperbelt Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary Kennedy Kalunga has urged the people of Masaiti district to give back the position of council chairperson to the UPND so that it could continue to provide checks and balances to the PF.

Mr Kalunga said before the seat was nullified, the position of council chairperson was held by the UPND and so it was only fair that even during the April 25, 2017 by-election, the seat was given to the UPND.

He said in an interview ahead of the April 25, 2017 by-election for the council chairperson that if the people of Masaiti vote for the UPND candidate Enny Matutu, it would provide checks and balances to the PF.

He said the PF had failed to deliver agricultural inputs on time and was also failing to ensure that local people benefitted from the industries in the area.

“If the people of Masaiti district vote for UPND, then we will be able to provide checks and balances to the PF. We will be able to push PF to deliver agricultural inputs on time and also ensure that local people benefit from the industries in the area,” Mr Kalunga said.

He said the UPND candidate was a good person who would be able to look after the interests of the people in the districts once elected as council chairperson.

He said the UPND candidate would ensure that issues of agriculture and other interests of the people were safeguarded.
