Zambia to experience prolonged dry spell – MET

By MILLENNIUM REPORTER

THE Zambia Metrological Department says most parts of the country will continue to experience dry weather conditions until after January 30 when some parts will see some rainfall.

Senior metrologist Peggy Thole said the rains had moved to the extreme Northern parts of Zambia.

She said this was as a result of the inter tropical convergence zone which had drifted northwards.

Ms Thole said the ITCZ was the main rain bringing belt which means currently the northern parts of the country were the only ones receiving rainfall.

Ms Thole said by February1, 2024, it was expected to see some rainfall in some selected parts owing to the westerly wave likely to affected most parts of the country though the rains would be isolated.
