I CAN BE A BETTER PRESIDENT,  SAYS LUSAMBO

I am going to challenge President Hakainde Hichilema in 2026 because unlike what he promised, he has made the people of Zambia suffer, former Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo has said.

Mr Lusambo said that he was ready to face the head of State and even win the elections because according to him, the UPND had failed to deliver and that time had come for him to take over the presidency of the country and liberate Zambians.

He said that the problems Zambians were facing were beyond the UPND and that politicians needed to take off their political jackets and offer themselves in trying to find solutions to the unending economic problems.

Mr Lusambo who featured on Radio Phoenix Let the People Talk programme said that he was ready to challenge Mr Hichilema for the presidency.

And when a caller asked how that was possible when he was a finished politician, Mr Lusambo insisted that he was still popular and that his popularity will be tested in 2026.

Mr Lusambo said that he would not accept any position in the ruling party and that he just wanted to be president.

He also said that the fight against corruption should not be selective and gave an example of Thabo Kawana who was cleared by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the shortest possible time.

Mr Lusambo said that it was difficult for the ACC to clear him because his arraignment before the courts of law by the investigative wings was politically motivated.

He said he had never stolen anything from anyone and that there was a very wrong narrative that politicians were thieves.

Mr Lusambo said that there was need for ACC to be fair when dealing with political cases because it was clear that he was being persecuted.
