‘We were robbed’

...Chisi Mbewe complains as Warriors fans call for ‘Chicken’s’ head

By MICHAEL MIYOBA
RED Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe says Red Arrows were robbed of a win over Prison Leopards who had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against the defending champions in an MTN/FAZ Super League Week-12 fixture played at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.
Arrows, who had scored through 2017 Under-20 AFCON winning striker Conlyde Luchanga were compelled to settle for a third consecutive draw after Isaac Ngoma scored the crucial equaliser in the second half for the two sides to share the points.
However, Mbewe accused the referee of failing to manage the game as he gifted Prison Leopards the equaliser and failed to give Arrows a penalty in the second half.
“This is a disappointing result for us. I feel this is a game we were robbed. The referee made a wrong decision which made Prison Leopards to equalise. And again at one point we had a clear penalty on Joseph Phiri but then again the referee’s decision is what I would say cost us the three points but a point away is not a bad result.
I know it hasn’t been a good run in the last three games but the most important thing is that we are not losing. We just need to go back and work on our mistakes because we created so many chances. If we had converted them we wouldn’t have been complaining about poor officiating,” Mbewe said.
For Prison Leopards coach Albert Kachinga, a draw against the defending champions is a good result for his charges who have always struggled against Arrows.
The one point gained in Kabwe propelled Red Arrow’s to 23 points, one point ahead of Power Dynamos while Prisons maintained fourth position with 21 points.
Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors fans protested and called for the firing of head coach George Lwandamina after the Kabwe outfit gave up a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to MUZA FC in the second fixture of the double header at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
Killian Kanguluma had given Warriors the lead with a goal in the 22nd minute but it was not enough to guarantee a win for Lwandamina’s boys who were stunned by Bobo Kindimbu and Andrew Phiri who scored brilliant second half goals to hand MUZA the victory.
Phiri was the hero of the day for MUZA FC as he silenced Warriors with a goal in the second minute of injury time to gift MUZA the crucial win.
At the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola, Kansanshi Dynamos handed Buildcon their tenth defeat of the season following a 4-0 bashing thanks to goals from Djo Ntambwe, Marvin Jere, Kangombe and an own goal from Humphrey Kabinga.
The win propelled Kansanshi to sixth on the log with 19 points while Buildcon continues to languish on 18th position with two points.
