Dear Editor,
GREETINGS to all, new national debate: “our cost for road construction was US$1m per km and we admit that we were thieves, but your cost is now at US$1.8m per km and so what should we call you?”


In one of our local languages, there is a saying, “monkeys laugh at each other’s butts.” These people are one and the same.
The recycled elements simply walk into Government with a mindset of “how will our eating be different from the ones the people have rejected?”
The rejected ones also say, “How shall we show that we were better thieves so that we can bounce back?”
This is the reality in our nation. We have become a country of celebrity thieves and the people are mysteriously attracted to thieves.
Since 2009, UPP has been asking the people of Zambia to rally behind a nationalistic agenda that will put Zambia first.
As long as power is not given to the people through the county system of public administration, thieves and economic hitmen will continue to use the government as a cash cow for personal benefits.
Councils used to do works before 1991, but the moment the RDA was created, among other centrally controlled statutory bodies, Government has become a business entity for a few and the main line of business is tenderpreneurship
