The shame of our police

Editor,

I think it is time our police IG Kakoma Kanganja reorganises his men and women in uniform or resign. To state that the current police service is below par is an understatement. We have no police in Zambia to talk about. Home Affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo squarely stands to blame for the mess in our security wing today. What more evidence does Kampyongo and Kanganja need before they can swing into action and cleanse the Police Service?

ECL should ignore his detractors

Editor,

Is our President not sure he won the 2016 general elections? I’m saying this because I can’t see any reason he should bow down to just one individual who is failing to recognise him as head of State and commander in chief of the armed forces. That’s why it’s not healthy to be humble all the time. Please my President don’t ever go near these people like you did in South Africa.

Kambwili is a big fish?

Editor,

Kambwili is a big fish. Even Edgar knows that. Kambwili is fighting for a lot of Zambians, people need to leave him alone. Experience is the best teacher. Kambwili all the way. Ifufuna si ufuna. Ifintu kulwisha not bumbuli guys. This guy knows all the systems in the so-called GRZ. We will continue following him.

Supervision lacking in hospitals

Editor,

I wish to add my  voice to those who have complained about poor
services in our health institutions which in some cases has resulted in unnecssery deaths. I think the main problem is due to lack of supervision by senior staff in charge of our health facilities. Can gervernment please look in this matter urgently.

Civil servants need better salaries

Editor,

The percentage of the salary increase in the civil service is very little. Seriously, the Minister of Finance needs to reduce the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax. This is because the cost of living still remains extremely high. Otherwise the raise won’t have any impact on the workers.

For the ears of Dr Canisius Banda

Editor,

There’s no logic in Canisius Banda’s statement. If Canisius is serious, he should write a letter to Henry Kanyanta Sosala, who is Paramount Chief Chitimukulu, to apologise to Chishimba Kambwili for blocking him from attending this year’s Bemba ceremony “Ukusefya pa Ng’wena.” Kambwili travelled all the way to the Bembaland only to be chased away by the Chitimukulu.

Other animals are more equal than others

Editor

Are civil servants more Zambian than the unemployed men and women in Zambia? The rich do not vote neither the workers who receive the lion’s share of our national cake (budget) in terms of salaries. The civil servants get anything from housing to building allowances and yet there is nothing for unemployed youths.

Only God gives leadership

Editor,

We must condemn this action strongly. State House is given by God whether Hakainde Hichilema forces himself, if God won’t allow it, he won’t be President. It is not by power or by force.

Do not blame police

Editor,

Responding to the person who wrote our police are dead. the nolles and the acquittals aren’t the signs that the police is dead, you should know by now that it’s not the police who prosecute cases but it’s the National Prosecutions Authority; the police only investigate cases. A prosecutor may have evidence but it matters how it is presented before the courts of law. It is unfair blaming
everything on the police.
