14 SPANISH FIRMS POISED FOR TALKS WITH LOCALS

ABOUT 14 Spanish companies will this month hold investment meetings with their Zambian counterparts and are set to create business linkages with the local entities in different sectors of the economy.

Cruz del sur investments limited, a Spanish company will facilitate the “Business to Business” (B2B) meetings between 15 Spanish business delegation and their Zambian counterparts on 15th and 16th of this month.

The main objective is to promote trade and investment between Spain and Zambia, informing the Spanish companies integrated in this mission about the investment and business opportunities in Zambia, The delegation would focus more on business entities financed by international financial institutions such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the European Union.

The delegation is seeking their Zambian counterpart’s involvement in the business of agriculture to explore ways in which they could create business linkages. The sectors that will receive special attention during the mission are: energy, water, healthcare, agriculture and livestock, geology and mines.

Commenting on this development, Zambia National Farmers Union  media and public relations manager, Calvin Kaleyi, encouraged the business community in the framing industry to take advantage of the opportunity.

Mr. Kaleyi explained in interview that such meeting opened up a lot of opportunities for farmers to share experiences with their counterparts from other countries.

“The delegation will be meeting not only the farming community but even other sectors of the economy. They are meeting farming and business entities this month. Such forums open a lot of linkages between Zambia and Spanish entities. It is a huge opportunities for the Zambian market,” Mr. Kaleyi said.
