British envoy spot on!

Dear Edit0r,

I listened to the British envoy on what he had to say about the political situation in our country they once ruled. He is part of the international community where opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema runs to for what he terms “human right abuses” by the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

HH gives the same song up to date that his election was stolen; that he won. If he won, why is there no tension in the country? Why are there no massive demonstrations by his followers?

This is simply because he is politically deficient and people don’t see him as the solution to the perceived misgovernment by PF. His reactions to the post-election conflicts shows that he is incapable to handle challenges of leadership.

The voting pattern and post-election violence in his stronghold mostly dominated by his tribe gives an indication that his party is tribal and a danger to national security and unity.

For me, I think GBM was just used to woo other tribes’ votes and could have been dumped later.

The international community don’t take HH seriously and that is the reason why they are praising the current government for political stability. HH is a false alarmist who thrives on national crises for his selfish, narrow political interests.

In my view, other opposition leaders are partly to blame for failing to take advantage of the power vacuum in the opposition. Currently there is no effective opposition in Zambia.

Enock Mukosha,

Kitwe.
