AFTER the humiliating 3-1 defeat to High Flying Nkwazi FC last weekend, Nkana FC will seek redemption when they face rejuvenated Konkola Blades in today’s MTN Zambia Super League’s Week-11 match at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Nkana have endured a very tough campaign since the league commenced and have only managed one win, three draws and six defeats.

Today’s match against Blades, who beat Mutondo Stars over the weekend presents another tough test for Nkana coach Ian Bakala who has struggled to find the winning formula since he took over from Beston Chambeshi as head gaffer.

While Nkana will be looking for a win to move up on the Super League table where they seat on 17th position, Blades who are 13th on the log with 10 points will fight for a win to avoid dropping into the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes will fight to recover from last weekend’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to league leaders Kabwe Warriors when they host Sensational Zanaco FC in a midlands derby which is scheduled for Edwin Imboela Stadium.

The lunchtime kick off promises sparks as Buffaloes will be aiming to avoid a consecutive loss while Zanaco will be determined to bounce back to winning ways after the 1-1 stalemate against Zesco United last weekend.

In the second fixture of the double header at Imboela Stadium, Nkwazi will seek to do what no other club has done so far which is to beat FC Muza.

Muza remains as the only team in the Super League yet to taste defeat and today’s fixture presents them a chance to claim top spot if Kabwe Warriors fail to beat struggling Kansanshi Dynamos at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.

Kabwe Warriors, who top the league with 21 points are determined to protect their perfect run having beaten Konkola Blades, Power Dynamos, Zesco United and Green Buffaloes in the last four matches.

Rejuvenated Mighty Mufulira Wanderers who defeated Trident FC last weekend will be in Choma to face Green Eagles in another intriguing match at Independence Stadium while Napsa Stars will aim to bounce back from last weekend’s loss to Forest Rangers when they host winless Trident FC at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

At Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe, struggling Prison Leopards will fight to escape the relegation zone when they host Forest Rangers while Zesco United will fight for their first win in four matches when they take on Red Arrows in a clash of the titans at Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola.

Power Dynamos, who have gone four games without a win will host Mutondo Stars in another derby in an anticipated thriller at Arthur Davies Stadium.
