CANCEL ZIALE examinations and audit the syllabus because it’s not reasonable that the material provided to the students was so difficult that only one out of 395 passed, lawyer Lazurus Chisela has said.
Mr. Chisela, who is Zambia United for Sustainable Development (ZUSD) leader, also said the government should investigate the modules that ZIALE is offering the students because the poor pass rate is an embarrassment.
He said in an interview that it’s illogical that students who pass with distinctions from their respective law schools including the University of Zambia fail ZIALE bar exams.
Mr. Chisela said that could only mean that the lecturers at the ZIALE don’t know to explain the syllabus offered to students or don’t know what they are doing.
“They should nullify the examination and put up a commission of inquiry. Afterwards, they should call back all the students who went in that year to go and re-sit for the exams that will be properly prepared according to the syllabus that they were offered,” he said.
Mr. Chisela said it’s possible from the poor pass rate that the syllabus of ZIALE is not ideal for Zambia because when a learning institution comes up with a syllabus and students fail then that is a useless syllawamba was right to get upset and said they as an institution produced the best students, some of them got distinctions.”
