U- 20 national team has made us proud

Editor,

I would like to express my profound joy at the U- 20 Soccer team. They have really done Zambia proud. It is not easy picking the name of the country from the dungeons and placing it on the football map. Because of you, people across the globe are curious and eager to know where Zambia is. CONGRATULATIONS BOYS! Despite others trying to pull you down, you showed them just what a true Zambian warrior is, never going down without a fight! You are our heroes! I would like to encourage you to keep working with the same spirit because, believe me, you are going places. Just remember to stay forcused and don’t get destructed with activities that might destroy your beautiful future or send you to an early grave. Please, I repeat, don’t get too excited and send yourselves to an early grave! You are our identity, our pride and joy! Truly you have emphasized our, ‘one Zambia, one nation’ motto! Keep going boys, keep at it!

PIA, we need a statement from you please

Editor,

In the wake of what is happening in the pension industry in Zambia, the Pensions and Industry Authority as a regulator needs to say something to assure workers/ pensioners whether their money is safe or not. First it was at Saturina Regna Pension Fund, now issues are emerging at Kwacha Pension Trust Fund. Say something about this please!

Kwacha Pension Trust Fund saga

Editor,

The Kwacha Pension Trust Fund (KPTF) saga has extended to Makeni flats off Kafue road near the shopping mall. Can KPTF staff or indeed BoZ explain why only 2-3 flats out of 10 are leased out hence not generating income for the benefit of pensioners? And why are the property caretakers being changed like shirts? Last but not the least, the buildings and driveway are in a state of despair and have overgrown grass and trees. Just how secure are our pension funds?

We love you, u-20 Chipolopolo soccer team

Editor,

I just want to let the U-20 team know how much love we have for them. Just because they didn’t make it to the final round, it doesn’t mean they weren’t good enough. The boys played the best they could but just like in every game, another has to lose for someone to win. Despite that, you are our heroes and we love you for placing such an outstanding recognition and admiration on our country.

Litter on the streets of Lusaka

Editor,

There is a lot of litter in the streets of Lusaka. Even the areas that used to look clean like Kabulonga or Longacres are now an eyesore. Has the PF Government failed? Where is the Minister of Local Government? Doesn’t he see all this litter mounting up?

Investrust Bank and inefficiency

Editor,

This bank and its management must pull up its socks. I applied for a VISA card over four months ago, never the less, up to now, I am still told to keep on checking on the progress. Only God knows when it will be made available to me. I know it’s our Zambian owned and run bank. I have seen and observed enough inefficiencies among the employees of this gallant bank. Changing for the better is all I can wait to see with this bank.

Congratulations U- 20 national team

Editor,

I would like to congratulate the U-20 national team and the technical bench for putting Zambia on the world soccer map. Their loss to Italy should not dampen their resolve to bring glory to mother Zambia when called upon for duty. It is my hope that these boys will be given enough latitude to improve their talents without any petty football politics. Keep your passion and indeed, the spirit burning boys. It was hard to think the boys on the screen came from a land with one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Victoria Falls.
