THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in North Western Province claims that opposition-inclined civil servants are delaying development in the region.

PF provincial Information and publicity secretary Edwin Sekelechi told the Daily Nation that the party was aware of some civil servants in the province, especially in Solwezi, that were frustrating Government efforts.

“There are some civil servants in the province especially at Solwezi Municipal Council that are ever frustrating efforts being made by Government,’’ Mr Sekelechi said.

He said the party was saddened with the attitude of civil servants championing opposition political party agendas.

He cited the failure by the local authority to offer the much needed services by the people.

“Look at our township roads, the markets, bus stations. There is nothing to talk about.  All this is as a result of the workers that we have at the council that are ever frustrating efforts being done by this hard working Government,’’ he said.

He said Solwezi Municipal Council was one of the richest councils in the country in terms of revenue but wondered how the local authority was failing to deliver the much needed services to the people.

“It is in black and white that our council here is second to Lusaka; however, as a party we have been wondering how the council has been failing to offer services to the people.
