ZB HAPPY OVER STATE HELP WITH TANKERS TIFF

GOVERNMENT has done a commendable job in resolving the long-standing issue of fuel tankers parking dangerously close to Zambian Breweries headquarters, says the company’s country director, Annabelle Degroot.

Ms Degroot thanked the Ggvernment for its response in finding a lasting solution to the issue of the tankers, which have now largely been moved from the area around the factory in Mungwi Road.

She said the Ministry of Energy played a pivotal role to see to it that the matter was amicably resolved and lives and property were safeguarded.

Ms Degroot who is outgoing Zambian Breweries country director said the gesture was an excellent example of Government supporting business as well as listening to the arguments and balancing competing needs to find a way forward.

“I wish to thank Government, and the ministry in particular, for listening to our concerns and working tirelessly to find a workable solution to the problem.

 “It is an excellent example of Government supporting business, listening to the arguments and balancing competing needs to find a way forward.”

”Lives and property have undoubtedly been saved as a result,” Ms Degroot said.

Meanwhile, incoming country director Jose Daniel Moran has pledged to maintain the close working relationship Zambian Breweries has built with government. “I look forward to building on Annabelle’s efforts to work hand-in-hand with the government for the benefit of the business, society and the nation as a whole,” said Mr Moran.
