Stop harassing ecl’s family

By NATION REPORTER

THE UPND-led government should stop harassing the innocent former first family in trying to get at president Edgar Lungu, a PF member Chanoda Ngwira has said.

Mr Ngwira said the new dawn administration should stop being a coward by beating about the bush and face the former Head of State if they think he committed a crime.

“Stop beating about the bush and face the person you intend to harass,” Mr. Ngwira said.

He said it was sad to see those closer to Mr. Lungu, such as his family being harassed left right and centre by the investigative wings.

Mr. Ngwira said after being challenged through her lawyers that actually the properties in question are hers, the security wings have decided to change the narrative by claiming that the said properties have no titles.

He said, “one wonders how because at first they said the titles show Esther Nyawa Tembo.”

Mr. Ngwira said the harassment of the former first family was politically-motivated, and a desperate attempt to implicate Mr. Lungu.

“Could they be targeting to emotionally drain the former Head of State? Could it be that they don’t want the Head of State to live? Or could it be that their target is the former Head of State?” Mr Ngwira asked.

He added, “If maybe their target is the former Head of State in terms of prosecution, why can’t they go to him direct? And if anything, didn’t they hear ACC informing the nation that actually the former Head of State is not linked to any criminality this far?”

Mr Ngwira warned that the precedence that the current regime was creating is dangerous and it would haunt them in future.
