A POLICY analyst Kelvin Chibomba has welcomed Gomvernment’s move to review the gun licence policy as it will help to bring sanity in the country.
In an interview, Mr Chibomba said the Firearm Act No 110 should be reviewed because of the recent gun incidents in the country.
He also urged the police to investigate the causes of these incidents in communities and find out where people buy their guns to save lives.
Mr Chibomba also urged the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal security to critically look at how people possess firearms because some tend to buy guns that were not licensed.
He emphasised the need for police officers to carry out public sensitisation on how the law extends to people who abrogate it and safety measures they should put in place when in possession of a licensed firearm.
