…Grant calls on CAF to Introduce VAR

CHIPOLOPOLO Coach Avram Grant has challenged the Confederation of African Football CAF to Introduce Video Assistant Referring VAR to improve the quality of referring in Africa.
Speaking after Zambias 2-1 defeat to Morocco in Friday nights 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier in Agadir Grant said the Chipolopolo boys were unfortunate as they were victims of poor officiating by the referees.
Grant said referees are allowed to do whatever they want because there is no VAR to expose their mistakes.
“CAF needs to introduce VAR then the quality of refereeing will be better. It is not the first time, Against Congo Brazzaville we had the same problems with the ref so I think CAF will have to put VAR then there will be more control about the refs because now the referees are allowed to do whatever they want,” Grant said.
