PROPRIETOR of the famous Dallas City club Trevor Ngandu has refuted media reports that one person died after taking a cocktail at his night club in Lusaka’s Kabwata township recently.

Mr Ngandu, popularly known as Uncle T”, said as a Zambian businessman, he had no intentions of killing anyone because he considered everyone as a brother. He said he had tried to leave a legacy by coming up with a good business concept.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr Ngandu said he was saddened by the claims by his fellow businessmen. He accused them of trying to pull him down.

He said the samples of his cocktail were taken to the food and drugs control laboratory at the University Teaching Hospital for testing and was recommended for human consumption.

He explained that tests proved that the cocktail was within the recommended alcohol percentage for consumption.

“If my cocktail is bad, then why is it that everyone is imitating my concept, because they are now found everywhere, go to Kamwala, Matero, Chelstone even Avondale and other places you will find these cocktails being mixed,” said Mr Ngandu.

He said he would continue doing the cocktail adding that he was not only after making money, but also to empower underprivileged people in society.

Mr Ngandu said, he had information that some bar owners from Chilenje, Kabwata and surrounding areas have ganged up against him, accusing him of taking away their customers.

He urged other businessman to avoid being jealous because business was all about competition and not tarnishing people’s names or fighting each other.

Mr Ngandu who runs an orphanage called Home of David and Faith in Libala with 30 kids, said he would ensure that he looked after the children properly because the wealth he had was not meant for him alone, but to help the less privileged in society.

“At Dallas City we have employed over 50 people which is another way of creating employment to the locals. So I won’t be pulled down because I am doing the correct thing,” he said
