‘Africa must pursue own economic interests’

AFRICA needs to urgently look out for its interest like other regions by breaking free from the ongoing structural deficiencies duping countries in debt traps and dependency.

These calls were made by economic experts at a high-level briefing recently in Ethiopia, alongside the African Union summit focusing on debt.

Economic experts urged African governments to move beyond rhetoric and jointly implement structural reforms critical to addressing debt burdens and reshaping global finance.

They also provided solutions on how the continent could free itself from “traps” reportedly set by multinational institutions.
