PASSENGERS and some bus drivers at the Livingstone main bus station are happy with the introduction of the sanitising programme initiated by the Zambia Scouts Association (ZSA).
The drivers have asked the ZSA to extend the programme to all the districts particularly those along the line of railway.
According to drivers, the sanitising programme on buses was working well but asked for more hand sanitisers to be given to long-distance drivers.
Meanwhile, ZSA National Field Commissioner, Garry Zulu, has called on travellers to cooperate with his members who were implementing the hand washing and sanitising exercise at all the bus stations.
Mr Zulu said that the exercise was very important as it sought to stop the spread of Coronavirus and asked for support from all Zambians.
Meanwhile, the Patriotic Front in Livingstone is concerned that some people were disregarding Government’s preventing measures.
PF Akapelwa Ward chairman, Ikuka Muleta, complained that some people were failing to adhere to the health guidelines.
He said that some people were not adhering to issues such as hand washing, sanitizing, none essential visits and maintaining social distance.
Mr Muleta pleaded with residents to rally behind President Edgar Lungu and Government on the measures that had been put in place if the fight against pandemic was to be won.
