“THIS country needs leaders that are God-fearing. We do not have leaders that fear God, that is why there is so much corruption. I am standing for elections in 2021,” says opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) leader Elias Chipimo.

And Mr. Chipimo has asked President Edgar Lungu to fire Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Davis Mwila ‘‘before Zambians fire him’’.

Speaking in Ndola yesterday at a

NAREP national women’s convention,

Mr Chipimo said President Lungu should relieve Mr. Mwila of his duties because he was on record as defending corruption.

“We cannot have a situation where an official who is so close to the President can be allowed to promote corruption. The response that will be done against President Lungu may not be good.

He needs to act to save his name. Corruption in this government is deep,” Chipimo said.

He said the silence on the utterances by the PF SG  is tantamount to abetting the situation. He said NAREP wants Mr Mwila to go.

“We demand that he be disciplined failure to which we will force him to go and President Lungu will follow suit. We have the Maizegate scandal, Malawi is acting but here we are silent! What is President Lungu doing about corruption?”

Mr. Chipimo has vowed to expose all forms of corruption in the PF government.

He said people were surrounding President Lungu in large numbers because of the money and corruption.

He stated that 2021 general elections will not be easy for some corrupt people as Zambians will stand up and defend the Constitution.

“This country is being destroyed because of corruption, there are thieves in PF.

We are going to expose the corruption we see in this government. This evil in our society needs to be exposed and put to a stop,” he said.
