A 41-YEAR-OLD man of Kasempa has been arrested for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter North-Western province Commissioner of police Elias Chushi confirmed the sad development and identified.
Mr Chushi said in September, 26 the suspect enticed his daughter to accompany him in the bush on the pretext that he had some work to do.
He explained that while in the bush, the father forced himself on the girl and defiled her.
“But she kept quiet because her father threatened her. However, on Friday last week the mother of the girl, noticed something unusual in her behaviour. She coerced her to talk and her daughter opened up to her mother and described the experience she went through,” Mr Chushi said.
He said fearing her husband, the mother confided in a nurse at Kamakuku Clinic.
“The police were quickly alerted and the suspect was arrested and charged for the offence of incest and will appear in court soon while the victim has been admitted to Mukinge Mission Hospital,” he said.
