PF not shaken, says Davies Chama

By ADRIAN MWANZA

WE are not shaken by police summoning the party’s former general secretary, Davis Mwila, over the source of campaign vehicles used in Northern Province, acting PF national chairperson, Davis Chama, has said.

Mr Chama said that there were so many manoeuvres by the ruling party to fix the opposition and summoning the former general secretary was one of those.

He said Mr Mwila was not being summoned for the first time and that he had been there again where he managed to explain.

“To be honest, we are not shaken at all because there is nothing sinister about the sources of the vehicles and I’m sure Mr Mwila would give a clear account about the matter,” he said.

Mr Chama said senior members of the party like Dr Chishimba Kambwili and others were on hand to give solidarity to their colleague and that he appeared to be in high spirits. He said that this was a political witch-hunt which would not take them anywhere and that they were ready to face the police because their hands were clean. Mr Chama said most members of the PF had gone through persecution and that they were not scared as long as they were doing the right things.

He called on PF members to remain resilient and not to be defeated despite the pressure they were facing at the hands of the ruling party.

POLICE in Lusaka yesterday questioned Former Patriotic Front -PF- Secretary General Davies Mwila in connection with three vehicles that were used for campaigns in Northern Province.

Speaking to Journalists after about two hours of the interrogations, Mr Mwila’s lawyer Kambwa Aongola said his team had not been availed the full details of the complainant and the offence that may have been committed.

Mr Aongola said the investigation ended at Mr MWILA saying what he knows about the vehicles. He said the Police termed the investigation as ongoing and that they are likely to get back to Mr. Mwila and his lawyers.
