Adulterous wife divorced

A MOTHER of five children who admitted committing adultery in a tit-for-tat situation has lost her marriage in a Lusaka local court.

Bridget Ng’andu, 37, of Garden House compound admitted the act and said she even compensated her husband, Aaron Njobvu, whom she has sued for divorce.

The two got married in 1999 and have five children.

Ng’andu told Senior Court Magistrates Abbyshine Michelo and Esther Mulomba at Kanyama Local Court that problems started in 2006 when Njobvu had an affair with another woman.

“Later, I committed adultery with another man. I was charged and I compensated Njobvu. Njobvu took all the household goods to his new wife. That is why I want divorce,’’ said Ng’andu.

She explained that Njobvu used to give her the phone number of the same woman who ceaselessly insulted her.

Ng’andu said they went on separation for three years and Njobvu married another woman whom she said was present in court.

In defence, Njobvu said that problems started when Ng’andu started denying him conjugal rights and used to advise him to look for another woman.

He explained that when he proposed love to another woman, she could not allow him to marry her.

“Later on, I found her committing adultery with another man but I don’t want to divorce her, she is still my wife,’’ said Njobvu.

The court said that problems started when Njobvu had an affair with another woman whom he used to give Ng’andu’s number to insult her.

The court said that the couple have been apart for three years and Ng’andu committed adultery and she compensated Njobvu but he got all the goods.

The court granted divorce without compensation and ordered Njobvu to be paying children maintenance fee of K400 per month.
